BLACK DISCOURSE is a multidisciplinary studio and oral tradition incubator, curating from the global black experience.
We connect black conversation to the world, through experiential design and media production.
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
Static and dynamic content editing
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
How to customize formatting for each rich text
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

What: I’ve Never Known Home
Where: Gallery 1957, 1 Hyde Park Gate London UK
When: 13 October - 19 November, 2021
Via Gallery 1957:
Gallery 1957, is delighted to present a selection of works by African-American abstract expressionist artist Patrick Alston marking his first solo show in London and first with the gallery. After a 2-month residency in Accra, Ghana - Alston has incorporated traditional textiles and techniques into his work - namely Akan Kente cloth and wax-resist batik dyed cotton fabric - adding new depth and further complexity to his oeuvre.
Inspired by his first trip to the continent, Alston explores themes of belonging, identity and displacement, and reflects on the effects of losing a sense of home, and the power of the return to the continent for those who have been displaced throughout history.
Patrick Alston asserts “I seek to contribute to the dialogue of the native black experience through the use of abstraction, opposed to the black figure, in an attempt to further expand the conversation of blackness outside of the physical and visual structures of figurative painting.”
